Eighth Sussex Ukulele Festival

The theme for the festival this year is
Country and Western Music

Howdy folks! Dig out those cowboy boots, get your best Stetson on, and get ready for a hoe down… yee hah!

Featuring the dynamic and versatile trio that is The League of Ukulele Gentlemen and the unique and hugely popular comedy music act Opera-lele!

Also performing are J’Ukebox Ukulele Showband as well as the Pevensey Ukulele Group. Making their debut at the festival are the Eastbourne-based Printers Ukulele Army. All this, plus the Beachwood Boys, Philippa Leigh, and Absolutely Ukeless – not to mention our very own Quayside Ukes Country Band. The enthusiastic and very talented Sir Robert Woodard Academy Ukulele Band will start the day.

There will be plenty of workshops with comprehensive and diverse learning techniques, to suit all abilities, as well as jamming in the foyer for most of the day.

As usual, a raffle will be held with stupendous prizes, and items of merchandise will be available to buy during the day, including badges, T-shirts and neckties with our exciting new logo! Tickets for the festival will be available from the Ropetackle Arts Centre box office.

There will also be an opening night on Friday 11th September, to be held at the new Sussex Yacht club building from 7.30-10.30pm. This will feature Quayside Ukes Country Band to get you in the mood, as well as traditional western-style line dancing followed by an open mic session and jamming for all.
