Seventh Sussex Ukulele Festival

The 2019 Sussex Ukulele Festival returns for its 7th year to the Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea

Sunday 15th September 2019

We are theming the festival for the first time and have chosen the “year of Sixty-Nine”. It’s 50 years since Woodstock, the first manned moon landing, Flower Power, The Beatles Abbey Road Album, The Stones and many more memorable events from that year. So dress to impress in your best ’60s gear.

This year we are delighted to have the Mersey Belles & Beaus, the Hedge Inspectors, Matthew Quilliam, Penny and the Howletts, and Tania Pieri, together with jams from our own Quayside Ukes (in their very own style) and the Ems Valley Strummers.

We’ll have Workshops with comprehensive and diverse learning techniques. These will suit the beginner through to the more experienced.

There will be the usual Raffle run by Lyn and we are delighted Noah Ukuleles are donating a beautifully-crafted Ukulele as our main prize as in previous years. Matt will have a stall in the foyer at the festival with a wide range of quality ukuleles on sale.

Commemorative T-Shirts will be on sale by pre-order and on the day at £15.00 each.

The opening night will again be on Houseboat Verda where our 1969 theme will be launched with our very own Woodstock Ukulele Tribute Band. We’ll also have a Ukulele Open Mic section and of course Jamming out the evening.

More details to follow, so check back here over the coming months.
