This will be held on Saturday the 19th September, starting at 8pm, at the newly refurbished Railway Inn, Portslade. The pub is on the south side of the railway crossing, a few metres from the station, and served by buses 49 and 46 and many other routes which come close along the seafront or New Church Road.
The pub has recently had a £100k refit so waits to welcome its first Uke evening. It has a friendly community atmosphere.
It's going to be a special night at the Railway Inn for our festival warm up. Robb Johnson will be performing a ukulele set leaving behind his guitar for the evening. Robb has been playing and recording for many years and is known as one of the country's finest songwriters. In the past year he has been touring his musical tribute to his grandfathers who fought in the First World War. Titled Gentle Men, it's well worth seeing if you get the chance (see http://www.robbjohnson.co.uk/gigs/index.html). Robb will play a variety of songs from his large catalogue of work.
LUSH will be playing the Jam part of the evening and you can download the songs they are going to play from their Facebook page (you'll need to log in to Facebook). They will also have spares on the night so join in, all welcome, and yes Valerie is in the set.
Finally Electric 5 will be playing. This new combo from Brighton is fun and talented and have promised to play a set where people can join in.
It's going to be a great night, see you on the 19th.
